Next time you look at the Defeat list, it'll be much bigger.
Why is this?
Well, Stater Bros. has this book with weird veggies.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.
Can you imagine my shock that bread fruit was real??!! I mean, come. on.
It's stuff of legend!
Bread + Fruit = awesome.
Okay, I'm done.

Supper and Food Network
We had a real dinner!! :D
I made salad (herb goodness) and mashed potatoes (w/ celery root (!) ) to go with Mom's chicken and broccoli :)
So I can check celery root off! :D
WOOT! :D
So: The recipes.
The potato-celery root:
Ingredients
* 2 large Idaho potatoes (about 2 1/2 pounds), peeled and cut into 2-inch pieces
* 1 celery root (about 1/2 pound), peeled and cut into 2-inch pieces
* 4 cloves garlic, peeled
* Water
* 3/4 cup lowfat buttermilk
* 2 teaspoons olive oil
* 2 tablespoons minced fresh chives
* Salt and ground black pepper
Directions
In a large saucepan, combine potatoes, celery root and garlic cloves. Pour over enough water to cover and set pan over high heat. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to medium and simmer for 8 to 10 minutes, or until potatoes are fork-tender.
Drain and transfer potatoes, celery root and garlic to a large bowl. Add 1/2 cup buttermilk and olive oil and mash or process until smooth (or lumpy, whatever you like!). Add more buttermilk if you want smoother potatoes. Fold in chives. Season to taste with salt and black pepper.
And the herb salad: Directions
Separate 1 large head Bibb lettuce. (We couldn't find that,so we used butter lettuce.) Combine in a large bowl with 2 tablespoons each of torn basil, dill, parsley and mint. Toss with the juice of 1/2 lemon and 2 tablespoons olive oil, and season with salt and pepper.
Yum.

Bok Choy = joy! :D
I love food.
I love cooking with ingredients that I have never cooked with. :D
My dream grocery list:
Baby bok choy :)
Chicken stock :)
Leeks :)
Butternut squash :)
Cauliflower :)
Walnuts (I don't even LIKE walnuts! Go figure. :P )
Golden Spoon frozen yogurt :D
Cream :)
Brown eggs :)
Fresh basil!!!! :D
All normal groceries that you would, er, die without. ;)
Really, anything in the veggie/fruit area.
I go crazy there. I skip and sing and laugh and ask Mom for bok choy, leeks, ect, there. People will stare at me. It rocks. :D
I have learned lately that if you gave me the choice between beef stew or this baby boc choy soup my Mom made once after I begged her to let me try baby bok choy once, (now it's one of my favorite veggies. :) ) and now I love it. So. Much.
Oh. And lets not forget the lovely leek soup. Love at first bite. I just am not a meat person! I like light food. Like Greek food. Oh, yes. Now I'm all hungry. Light food makes my life happy. Simple, light food makes my day.
I need some bok choy soup now. Grrrr
